Imposter Who
Imposter Who is my own party game. Everyone at the table gets the same secret word except one player, and the group has to work out who is bluffing.

Why I made it
Most party games on a phone want every player to install the app, join a room and stay online. I wanted one phone passed around the table, with nothing to sign up for and nothing that breaks when the signal drops.
So the whole game runs on the device. There are no accounts, no room codes and no ads.
What is in it
- 3 to 12 players on a single phone
- More than 30 decks and 8,000 words, from animals and food to cricket and Bollywood
- Up to 10 imposters in a round, with an optional hint for a lone imposter
- A discussion timer from 1 to 10 minutes
- Sessions of 3, 5, 7 or 10 rounds with a running leaderboard
- 24 avatars, so twelve players can tell each other apart
- A Mystery Twist mode, where one round quietly stops playing fair
How it is built
The app is written in React Native and TypeScript and ships to iOS and Android from one codebase. Reanimated and Lottie drive the motion, and sound and haptics mark every reveal.
Words, decks and rules all live inside the app, which is what lets it work with no connection. RevenueCat handles purchases, and Firebase covers crash reports, push and remote config.
The project has a Jest test suite and a script that checks every translation key. Players pick one of five color themes in settings. The blue on this site is one of them.
Where it is now
Imposter Who launched on the App Store and Google Play in September 2026 and is free to download. The current version is 1.0.15.
